October 2019 saw the 10th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Girdle Pain in Antwerp, Belgium. Held every three years and attracting 1000 to a maximum of 1500 participants, it is the only truly multidisciplinary conference on lumbopelvic pain.
This global congress invites practitioners, academics, researchers and policy makers from all continents and from clinical areas as wide ranging as medicine, orthopedics, neuro-surgery, physiotherapy, chiropractic, biomechanics, osteopathy, manual therapy, exercise therapy, myotherapy, and sports medicine. The content of this educational program is determined by rigorous assessment, medical practice, literature and chart review. All programs so far presented have been accredited internationally and by all professional organisations endorsing the programs.
December 2018, I submitted my abstract to present at the Congress and was delighted when I received an email March 2019 confirming my application to present at such a prestigious event. I was allocated in to the Epidemiology slot for research presentations where I explained my findings to date on Musculoskeletal Disorders and how, with improved methodology within the research, how we can do better as Scientists for this population.
