The session explored how touch, bias, attention, sensorimotor processing and assessor calibration influence hands-on clinical assessment.

RMTBC Keynote: Reframing Hands-On Assessment Through HODA-A

Dr Jo Abbott delivered a keynote presentation for the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia, introducing HODA-A as a new framework for understanding hands-on assessment as calibrated perceptual measurement.

The keynote explored clinical touch, palpation, active touch, sensory calibration and the clinician-as-instrument model.
